If Dad says it, it must be true. Thank god he's not a right-wing conservative (or *is* he... Still remember that River Walk and the zoo.

AS to the NY Times, I gave up on mainstream U.S. papers long ago. AlJazeer English is a staple of mine and I regularly just go to other papers around the world on the same story to see the difference. I was lucky to realize in the early 70's that there was a then what was called The Thid World and why. I still read the Times, but I consider the source. I think the Web has made a difference in what we know and who we know it from.

Keep up your quest for fairness and accountability.

Ernie WormwoodAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15626592.post-1156951085650922632006-08-30T11:18:00.000-04:002006-08-30T11:18:00.000-04:00Hey Weed Killer!I just now have had the chance to ...Hey Weed Killer!

I just now have had the chance to read your new blog and I found your concise, thoughtful article about The Times really wonderful. Sadly it is indicative of the fundamental problems faced by this country, where what's bad is "good" and vice-versa. Your take on people being too busy to really question media sources is right on too, and there are also so many that are afraid of becoming informed to the point where they would have to make decisions, hard decisions, and I think most folks would rather have their teeth pulled than make a decision.
